I’m going to try a Song a Week or So for another year. 52 in total.
Starting this week January 18, 2008.
This one came to me during the week and I put it down today in Garageband with my Duet etc. It’s called “Up to You”. But the Up to You part is more about “looking Up to You” not “ITS up to you”. I was originally thinking this might be a good Atomsplit cartoon big song. Done with drums and electric guitars etc of course.
Here’s the lyrics. Rather simple. But that’s my style
I’m calling out to you
I’m calling out
I’m crawling into view
I’m crawling out
Wanna breathe anew
Wanna breathe, the air
I’m calling out to you
I’m calling out
chourus
Need to turn to you
Need to turn
Need to see this through
Now i’ve come to know
Wanna taste anew
Wanna tast
Need to turn to you
Need to turn
chouruses
I’m looking up to you
I’m looking up
Need to feel the truth
In my bones
I’m looking out to you
I’m looking out
I’m looking up to you
I’m looking up
Here’s a new song to start your week. A nice little number influenced by me listening to the new Mates of State. My gal sings some Ah Ah back ups on it.
It’s called “Ah Ah”.

Man what a great night I head participating in the Writers In The Round on Saturday (Feb. 2nd). Will Hodge was awesome and so was Joey Mayes. You should check out their stuff. Here’s a few live mp3s of songs I did.

I’m trying to get myself back up to garageband foolin’ for a new song writing podcast series. (maybe just one every TWO weeks this time?). Here’s what came out. A little acoustic piece called “(my) Sweet Time.
And the deep brooding lyrics ;=):
“my Sweet Time”
Turning a whisper into a scream
Turning a system into a scene
Turning a blister into a sore
Turning your statement into much more
And it was my Sweet Time
Turning the spotlight onto your heart
Turning the screw tight -a little too hard
And it was my Sweet Time
Turning a doorway into a path
Turning the sure way into a laugh
Turning the table turning the tide
Turning your way now I cannot hide
And it was my Sweet Time
My what a Sweet Time
